Family banners and an Art Display wil be exhibitied in the hallways. Grades 7 and 8 will present their science projects in the cafeteria, and there will be exhibits in each classroom.

Pirates Baseball Game “Angels in the Outfield”

Friday August 21st, St. Alphonsus Youth Group will be going to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates play the Cincinnati Reds. Our own Fr. Murphy will also be going with us. We will be meeting at the rectory at 6 pm and carpooling to the game. The cost is $10 per ticket. Feel free to bring extra money for snacks.  Please call Mary at the rectory office to let us know as soon as possible if you can attend so that we can get a count for how many will be attending.

Replacement of Walk-in Freezer and Cooler: $57,550

Reminder of Emergency Parish Need

Through this emergency appeal, we ask for your donations towards the purchase of new, walk-in freezer and cooler units. We ask that you contribute via the Parish Share Program’s blue monthly envelopes or with plain envelopes marked “Freezer” or “Parish Share."  Given that our parish has met its Diocesan goal for the fiscal year, we keep 100% of the Parish Share receipts through January.

Last week, we announced that the walk-in cooler and freezer in our school cafeteria had deteriorated in its 53 years of use since it was built in 1955, and has to be completely replaced with new reinforced floor, ceiling, walls, doors, and refrigeration components.

The rooms will be rebuilt during the Christmas break.

Besides school lunches, we use those rooms for the Harvest Home Dinner and the Lenten Fish Fries.

For additional details, please see our earlier announcement .
